But there were two more surprises waiting for fans:

‘Just when I thought I was out… They pull me back in.’ That’s how I felt this evening. After about 5pm, I thought that UGA had finished with their class and called it a night. I put twitter down and relaxed. Just over an hour later, I get a message from another writer. ‘UGA has flipped Alabama commit Nabad Joseph‘ it said. No way I think, so I go on twitter again.

Well what do you know, I was wrong because that is exactly what happened. They didn’t just get the commitment either as the nations 18th ranked CB sent his paperwork into Athens and signed.

Be still my beating heart. Kirby Smart just flipped a top defensive back from Alabama. I pretty much lost my mind, but somehow, the day wasn’t over. Channing Tindall, one of the top linebackers in the nation then announced a surprise commitment at 8.30pm. He chose UGA and in doing so, concluded what has been the best day of recruitment in my life.

I haven’t seen much film on Joseph, but what I’ve heard is that he’s pretty damn good. Putting him in a class with Chris Smith and Divaad Wilson gives UGA some really decent options in the secondary. Tindall, however, is someone I love on film. The guy is considered to be an OLB on websites, but he has inside linebacker written all over him in our system.

Look I’m not saying he’s the next Roquan Smith, that would be blasphemy. But Tindall has all of the same traits Roquan had back when he committed. He’s that kind of explosive, sideline to sideline player who loves hitting people. He hasn’t signed yet, but if this commitment holds out, he’s going to be a monster in this UGA defense.

And that’s how the day ended. Like all Dawg fans, I’m exhausted and elated and babbling nonsense. Never have I felt more like this is a program that is destined for great things then I do right now. Just 11 more days until the Rose Bowl as well. Bring on Oklahoma and whoever else, this is a program on the rise people. December 20th 2017 will be remembered as one of the many building blocks that took the Dawgs to the promised land.
