Georgia Football 2018 recruit: Nations Top RB Zamir White
What type of player is he?
Put simply, White is the most complete back Georgia fans will have seen since Todd Gurley. Standing at 6-1 and 221lbs, White is a load. He’s a violent runner who punishes tacklers whenever they try and tackle him. He’s a power runner like Nick Chubb, but unlike Chubb, White has incredible burst.
White tore his ACL in his final high school game this past November. That injury means that we don’t know exactly if White will retain the burst that makes him so special. I suspect that he will do and that ‘zip’ is incredible. It’s similar if not better than we saw from D’Andre Swift this year. When he see’s a hole, White is able to get through it remarkably quickly.
Because of the injury, we can’t be sure that White will be the player that he was. But I’m going to go out on a limb and say that I think he will be. When you read the story about how he responded to the ACL, you start to realize that this is a unique physical specimen. I don’t know if it will be instant, but when he’s recovered, the guy is going to be a force of nature.
There is a reason this guy’s nickname is ‘Zeus’. Put simply, he has a chance to become a truly elite running back. Even at a school with the history of UGA, White has the ability to put himself right up there on the Mount Rushmore of running backs. When you think about the line that is going to be blocking for him as well… Just watch the film, he define’s the saying ‘he gone’.
