What type of player is he?

You know how I talked about how Jamaree Salyer was ‘nasty but not quite like Cade Mays’? Well, there is a reason for that. Mays has a nasty streak that just jumps off the screen when you watch him. The guy is a damn wrecking ball and he genuinely seems to enjoy smashing people. I’m sure you’ve heard the term ‘finishing blocks’ right? Well, Mays finishes them alright. He also tries to finish the damn player as well.

Some will say he ‘plays to the whistle’ but having watched some film, I’ve seen him get some afters. Mays is the kind of player who is going to get some personal fouls during his time in Athens. If anyone hits his QB late, he might just blow them up straight afterward.

That’s not something you want in all your linemen. heck if it costs you a game, it’s not something you want in any of them. But Mays makes it work. He plays within the rules (most of the time) and I’m sure Pittman will work on his discipline.

One thing is for sure. I don’t really want to face any of the linemen UGA signed this year. They are all absolute monsters. But Cade Mays is a bad, bad man on the football field and if I had to pick one to avoid, it would absolutely be him. He’s a violent player who has tremendous physical gifts. In short, he’s basically a nightmare for defensive linemen and I am very VERY happy that he is going to be on our side.
