Georgia Football 2018 recruit: WR Kearis Jackson
What can we expect in Athens?
Jackson should be able to find a way to make an impact on the field. That being said, I don’t know if it will be early on. Georgia is actually pretty stacked at wide receiver right now. That will be even more the case is Terry Godwin decides to stay for his senior season. That’s a decision that I expect him to make after the postseason.
Godwin and Hardman will likely command two of the three starting receiver slots next year. Since both are under 6ft tall, I would expect a bigger receiver to win the other job. Matt Landers and JJ Holloman are the two most likely candidates for me.
Jackson will have to battle it out for playing time in a crowded room, but I expect him to find a way eventually. It might not be in 2018, but he should have a great chance to win a job in 2019. I can see him being a part of a fantastic receivers unit when Dominick Blaylock and Jadon Haselwood arrive in 2019. Those 3 have truly complimentary skillsets.
Next: Now we'll look at Channing Tindall
With so many pass catching options available and a top-notch running game, it’s unlikely we’ll see any receiver put up gaudy stats over the next few years. That doesn’t mean that Jackson cannot have a strong impact in Athens. I fully expect him to put together a career similar to Godwin before it’s all said and done.
