How did he end up at UGA?

Ojulari is a bit of a late bloomer. While he is a tremendous physical prospect, he is very raw when it comes to football. This meant that it took a while for the big time offers to come in. Georgia actually did not offer him until last April/ That was after his junior season and before he went about his final season at Marietta. They also offered his younger brother BJ at the same time.

Georgia was not the first big offer for Ojulari, but when he received that, he suddenly became a lot more prominent. The SEC offers started to roll in and when it came time to decide, he had an impressive field to choose from. Auburn, Clemson and Florida were probably the biggest competition for UGA and Ojulari.

Ultimately however, when UGA set their sights on him, it seemed likely that Azeez would end up in Athens. His family are Nigerian immigrants but their eldest son was born in Georgia. The have close ties to the area and academics matter to them which gave UGA a great shot.

Ultimately, staying home was what was best for Azeez and his family. He committed to the Dawgs in August just before Kearis Jackson. This also gives Georgia a good shot at bringing in his brother for the 2020 class. BJ could end up being an even more talented prospect when his time comes. He is currently part of a hyper talented Marietta program that has come in leaps and bounds over the past few years.
