Georgia Football 2018 recruit: OLB Azeez Ojulari
What type of player is he?
Ojulari might be one of the most physically gifted players in this entire class. That’s not hyperbole, his measurable are downright scary. Ojulari broke the lifting record at Marietta high school. He did so while running a 4.70 second 40 yard dash and jumping just under 40 inches in the vertical leap.
Those are crazy numbers for a guy of his size and strength profile, especially as he is still yet to get into a college S&C program. Considering how well UGA’s S&C staff have done this year, I can’t wait to see what they do with Ojulari.
He clearly has the ability to become a dominant player off the edge even though right now he’s raw. Ojulari’s physical talent give him a chance to make an impact all over the field. He might not be as stout or as explosive as Brenton Cox. He doesn’t have the pass rushing skills of Adam Anderson. But Ojulari could end up being the most versatile and complete OLB of this current group.
Ojulari has said in the past how much he admires Lorenzo Cart’s game. I think that’s a good thing because they are very similar players. Both are physical specimens who can do anything they want on the field but neither has the pass rushing skills that fans tend to notice. But where would this 2017 team be right now without Carter, a guy who covers tight ends and tackles running backs as well as he rushes the passer? Sack numbers don’t always tell the full story and they won’t with Ojulari.
