Weapons, weapons everywhere:

Now that we’ve chatted a bit about the trenches, let’s look at playmakers shall we? Good lord, we’re going to see a lot of them on Monday! While both of these teams are led by their trench play, they also have plenty of exciting players all over the field.

Bama has possibly the best receiver in the game in Calvin Ridley. He is going to be a nightmare for Georgia to cover and if Jalen Hurts has a good day throwing the ball (more on that later) Ridley can beat a team on his own. On the ground, Bama also has plenty of weapons. They have a 4 headed monster much like UGA and all of them can score from pretty much anywhere.

UGA doesn’t have one standout receiver like Ridley, but it does have a wide range of targets. Javon Wims is the main one, but Terry Godwin and Mecole Hardman have both had huge moments in 2017. Tight end Issac Nauta is always a threat even if he has not been fully utilized this season as well. This might be the game for UGA to find a way to use him in the middle of the field where Bama’s linebackers are a bit injured.

Last but not least of course, you have UGA’s running backs. Chubb, Michell and Swift. All of these guys have the ability to win this game for Georgia. After last week, I expect Jim Chaney to find a couple of plays for Swift to make an impact, he was very quiet in the Rose Bowl.

While Bama might boast the best overall playmaker, I think UGA has more when it’s all said and done. However, playmakers need someone to get the ball in their hands, and that to me is where the final key lies.
