The Good

Incredibly high level of play

Although Georgia lost, I don’t think anybody can complain about the product on the field. Both sides played absolutely lights out football. There can be no doubt that these were clearly the best two teams in football. To be honest, after watching this game, I don’t think it’s really that close between them and everyone else.

We saw true, physical offensive and defensive line play. Those 4 units went head to head to head and mauled each other in a huge brawl. The quality of play on all the lines was pretty spectacular to be honest. How those OL’s held up against the defenses, I’ll never know.

We saw great QB play. Jake Fromm was brilliant, but who on earth saw Tua Tagovailoa coming? I mean either Nick Saban is a genius or the young man was born for big games. Both of these freshmen played out of their minds considering their age and the setting.

We saw breakout plays from the likes of Mecole Hardman and Sony Michel. Hardman was the star player on the offense for Georgia and he’s still just a sophomore. Think how good that guy is going to be next season.

There was missed field goals and overtime. There were sacks and huge throws. If I was a neutral, I would call this one of the great games of the season. Say what you want about the result, but the matchup itself was absolutely brilliant.
