What type of player is he?

While Bama can say they didn’t want him for his grades, they can’t say anything bad about his play. Joseph is another tall, long player who will fit in really well with the UGA/Bama defensive system. He brings a level of size and talent that Georgia simply did not have in this year’s Championship game.

Standing at 6-2, Joseph is a really tall cornerback. He has long arms and he also has the speed and hips to become a good cornerback at the next level. That is exactly what Georgia is looking for because as much as they loved the likes of Malkom Parrish and Deandre Baker, neither had the physical attributes Kirby Smart and Mel Tucker want in a corner.

Joseph does and he’s played the game at a pretty high level already. He brings plenty of talent and attitude to a position group that does need to get bigger and better going forward. Joseph has the ability to be a great cornerback and he should provide plenty of depth early.

But his nose for the football and his physical ability mean that he could be so much more. Georgia signed some good DB’s in 2017 and is still on the hunt for 2 5-star CB’s this year. I expect them to sign one of them so Joseph will not have an easy route to a starting job. But he brings talent and depth to the group and he’s going to find a way onto the field.
