4. D’Andre Swift secures the SEC – SEC Championship Game

Speaking of excitement for next year. D’Andre Swift is one of the most exciting players on this UGA roster right now. The way that he came in and found a way to turn Georgia’s 2 man rotation into a 3 man one was beyond impressive. His play demanded to take touches away from Nick and Sony. Considering who those guys are, that’s really saying something.

And this was another play that none of us will forget. This was the icing on the cake, the moment where we all knew, we were going to win the SEC for the first time in 12 years. The moment where we knew that we were going to be in the playoffs. The D’Andre Swift run. He’s going to have to do something pretty special in the next few years to beat this one.

This run was about so much more than just Swift though. The blocking up front is simply unreal. When you rewatch it, you just see how good the blocking was this year throughout the team. Lamont Gaillard pancakes a guy. Javon Wims throws one heck of a block as well and that was a theme this year. Kirby has got his receivers blocking down the field.

With that sort of physical play, this won’t be the last big D’Andre Swift run we see over the next few years. One of the reasons this is so high for me is because it’s an example of how we are trying to play under Kirby. Truly physical blocking and allowing our athletes to just make plays. That’s what the game is all about for me. I also liked making Gus Malzahn cry…
