Georgia Football: Top 15 plays for the 2017 season
8. Nick Chubb to the house – Rose Bowl
I feel like we’ve seen this play before. Defenders try and arm tackle Nick Chubb, only to find that that those same arms just get bounced off his enormous legs. This is something that has happened plenty of times in Chubb’s fantastic Georgia career. But at no point has it meant more than it did in the Rose Bowl.
With UGA trying to come back from being 17 points down, this TD was one of the turning points. UGA’s defense got a 3-and-out against OU to start the second half and then Chubb did this. It was the first time UGA touched the ball in the second half and the guy went straight ‘Beast Mode’.
Firstly, can we get this guy a commentators job? Love his enthusiasm! Secondly, he’s not wrong you know. The way the Chubb throws off the tackles is one thing, but the burst he shows afterwards is what’s truly special. Not many players have that sort of strength and speed to make the defense pay.
Chubb will go down in history at UGA as one of the best we have ever seen. If Georgia is RBU, Chubb has carved his name into it’s Mount Rushmore right there with Hershel Walker. He’s had so many plays that have made Georgia fans happy, but this one, in particular, meant a whole lot. This one gave us hope and I for one will never forget that.
