Way too early prediction

I hate to say that a position is any players to lose right now. Not with Kirby Smart as the head coach. He is going to make sure that every player has to fight for a job no matter what. Even Jake Fromm is going to have to battle out Justin Fields to keep his position. That’s the new way at Georgia.

That being said, I do think that Wilson has the inside track to this job. He has all of the physical tools that offensive line coaches dream of. The fact that he embraced the challenges of last year is a really good sign. A redshirt year can be a problem for top-level players. 5-stars don’t like sitting and watching, they want to play.

But recent interviews show a very mature man who has grown up a lot this year. He understood that this was for the best and he made the most of the season. It seems like he has continued to get better and that he has really impressed on the scout team when taking on 1st team defenders.

I think Mays will take the backup spot and he will see the field at some point. I don’t see him needing a redshirt and I think he’ll get some time to develop and get better late in games. No matter what, UGA is going to be good at both tackle spots this year. We’ve come a long way since 2016 that’s for sure.
