How did he end up at UGA?

Georgia was not the only program that was pushing for Condon. The talented tackle from Oklahoma had lots of Big-10 programs interested in signing him. Texas and TCU were very interested in taking him into the Lone Star state. Arkansas was also interested in keeping him in the SEC but over in the West.

But Georgia was always a big player for him. His mother is a Georgia alum and so Athens has always been a place that she is comfortable with. Condon has also been a big focus for Sam Pittman for quite a while.

While he has never played against top-level competition, Condon has the kind of size that Pittman wants. You can’t teach 6-7 as they like to say in basketball. You really can’t and that is why Condon was always a priority.

He committed to UGA shortly after his visit to Georgia in June. Interestingly, instate Oklahoma slow played Condon and didn’t offer him until he had already decided to go to Georgia. The Sooners thought that they could change his mind late as they do with many local products but that didn’t work with Condon, who has close ties to Georgia.
