Georgia Football fans who are missing football have something to watch this week. It’s the Senior Bowl and a couple former Dawgs are looking to make an impression.

I love the NFL draft. For some reason, it’s become one of my dingle favorite things in all of football. It’s the one time where college and professional football cross and you get to see guys who have worked so hard finally make some money! I also love to see former Georgia Football players get their shot too. That process all kicks off this week in Mobile Alabama.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is the first official event for former college players who are hoping to make it in the professional ranks. It’s a great chance for Seniors and players who have graduated to show their stuff against some of the top players in college. This year, Georgia had a stellar senior class, but only 3 of them will be in Mobile.

Davin Bellamy, Javon Wims and Isaiah Wynn are all there this week because they have something to prove. The likes of Lorenzo Carter, Sony Michel and Nick Chubb have pretty much showed all that they need to in their career. Their big test will be the NFL Combine in March.

But Bellamy, Wims and Wynn all have serious questions to answer right now and so it’s good to see them give this a shot. Here’s what they need to prove this week:

Davin Bellamy OLB:

Can he really have an impact in the NFL? Bellamy was a great leader this past season and had some big moments, but he’s not an elite athlete. He lost playing time to a more explosive player in D’Andre Walker this past season. While I don’t think he’s a future superstar, I do believe that Bellamy has what it takes to make the league.

This week will be a great chance for him to show his all around game which could really help him get drafted. It just takes 1 team to believe in you and he does a lot right that could earn him a spot. Bellamy has the intangibles to make a jump this week and get on teams radars. He’ll be a guy for Dawg fans to keep an eye out for.

Javon Wims WR:

Now Wims is someone who I think will definitely get drafted. If Bellamy is trying to convince someone to give him a shot this week, Wims is trying to climb up the draft board. He’s a very raw player, who didn’t play football until late and he really only has 1 season of film.

But what a season it was. Wims became the go to receiver for the second best team in the nation. He has terrific size and great ball skills. How many brilliant catches did he make this past season? Wims is everything Pro teams want in a starting outside wide receiver. Look for him to impress this week and earn a spot at the Combine.

Isaiah Wynn OL:

Out of these three players, I think Wynn could end up as the first to get drafted. Daniel Jeramiah from NFL.com has him rated as his 37th best player in the draft right now. I actually think that’s pretty accurate and I agree with his assessment that Wynn could end up being a Pro Bowl level guard one day.

His size fools people into thinking that he’s a late round guy, but his play says otherwise. Wynn became one of the best linemen in the entire SEC this season. He might be smallish, but he’s quick and a lot stronger than others realize. Look for him to really show that size doesn’t matter this week and cement his place in the draft.
