Tommy Bush is a BIG Wide Receiver

If UGA decides that they want one more receiver in this class, it’s going to likely be Tommy Bush. Bush is a physical specimen out there. He stands 6ft5 and boy is he fast. He’s the prototype of what you want from an outside receiver if he can put on some weight.

Right now Bush is a bit skinny, but that’s nothing that a good S&C program can’t fix. The reason he’s a focus for UGA right now is that the Dawgs don’t really have a starter with his profile. Terry Godwin and Mecole Hardman are both under 6ft. The battle to take Javon Wims’ spot is going to be intense this year.

JJ Holloman and Riley Ridley are going to battle it out, but neither has the same frame as Bush. There is a big difference between 6-2 and 6-5 when you are throwing jump balls. We all saw this year how comfortable Jake Fromm was throwing those passes.

Right now, receiver is a position of depth for the Bulldogs. The names I’ve just mentioned are all really talented and could start. There are others in the background such as Trey Blount and Matt Landers as well. Landers is very similar to Bush in terms of size.

If the Dawgs get the commitments they want from the defensive side of the ball, I don’t know if they have room for Bush. But if a space is available, I think he’ll be the first person to get it. He has everything teams are looking for to one day become a number 1 weapon in the passing game.
