The Misses

So onto the disappointments. UGA is really pushing hard for a few great players right now. That being said, space is really tight and they just don’t have room for everyone. I think they might well say no to some players. I also think others are going to say the same to them.

Rick Sandidge is a guy a lot of fans really want. Of course, you always want a highly rated defensive tackles, especially if he’s rated higher than your other commits. I think Georgia has made this a really tough decision for Sandidge, but ultimately, I think he goes to South Carolina. This recruitment reminds me so much of Jamyest Williams last season. Sandidge would be a part of a historic class in Athens. But he will be the best players SC signs if he goes there. It means a lot to be an instant star at an SEC school, especially when your Mum went there.

As for Quay Walker, man I can’t get a read on this guy. He’s incredibly talented and could very well be 5-star player. But he’s been all over the place with his recruitment over the last year or so. He could be the most talented linebacker in Georgia this year. That’s saying A LOT about how good he is on the field. But I don’t know if I trust that he’ll commit to UGA when the time comes. It’s always kind of felt like he’s trolling Georgia and after the ‘Big Cat’ fiasco last year, I’m wary of Crisp County players.

I like Walker and Sandidge both a lot and would love to see them in the class. But for different reasons, I think that both of them choose other schools. Ironically, both might end up at SE East rivals but that’s OK. It gives our boys 4 opportunities to show them just what UGA is all about going forward.
