One final 5-star

The day got started off with a bang for UGA fans. Tyson Campbell’s announcement took forever as so many of these things do. His did because so many of his classmates are also going to to be playing on Saturdays. There was a lot of talent on that American Heritage team this past season.

When it came to him however, Campbell picked the Dawgs. That gave UGA a seventh 5-star recruit according to the 247 composite. I’m ecstatic the Dawgs were able to pull in Campbell. He’s a freak athlete who clearly showed time and again that he is going to be special at cornerback.

I was getting as bit nervous when the decision came. There was a lot of speculation out there that Campbell was swaying towards Alabama or Miami over the past week. That while Georgia had led for a while, he might end up somewhere else.

That would have been a body blow for this team. As good as this class is, Campbell is a crucial part of it. Georgia needs to get better in the secondary and nobody they signed is better than him. It’s pretty damn hard to find a lockdown cornerback in college football. If Campbell lives up to his potential, that’s exactly what UGA has.
