Updated: 2/7/18 3.30pm

3.30pm

Alright then guys, I think it’s time for me to call it a day. I’ll have a daily analysis of everything that happened today out by this evening. For now, I’ll leave you all with a message from the guy who is probably the captain of this 2018 class, Justin Fields:

Tomorrow is a work day Dawgs. Let’s chop some wood!

3.25pm

Kirby Smart saying the most Kirby Smart thing possible about signing the number 1 class in the country:

“It really does not float my boat or that of my coaches”

Love it

3.10pm

Those of you who took the day off, or have understanding jobs can hear from the man, the legend that is Kirby Smart in 5 minutes. I think he might be quite happy…

3.00pm

Not remotely UGA related, but too good not to share. If Quay Walker wasn’t the best moment of the day, this absolutely is. I’ve never seen a family that annoyed that their kid chose a school before. Than again, it is Florida… I’d have probably stormed off as well.

2.30pm

Done and dusted. UGA has officially signed 26 players in the 2018 class. How are they going to get all these guys into the school when the SEC says you can only take 25? I have no idea. But I sure as heck look forward to finding out and watching these guys on Saturday.

Welcome to Athens Tramel, Jordan, Tyson, Quay, Otis and Tommy. The next few years of your lives are going to be awesome!

2.18pm

Now we’re cooking with gas! Just Tramel Walthour to go and the class is complete. Still can’t believe his happened…

2.10pm

Looking for another crazy recruitment video? New Georgia receiver Tommy Bush brought out a baby to announce that he was going to UGA. A baby that got very, very upset about all of the attention…

2.05pm

Speak of the devil. It looks like things are moving again. Fans who were worried about Tyson Campbell can stop panicking. He’s officially signed to play in Athens. But there’s no way he’s 6ft1 by the way graphics guy…

1.50pm

Obviously this ‘twitter suspension’ for the Dawgs is causing some issues again. Rivals has just reported that Quay Walker actually signed and sent in his paper work at 7am this morning. Still no confirmation out of UGA however.

Guess we might have to wait until the EOD for everything to come through.

1.20pm:

Another shocker! The top player in Alabama has chosen to leave the state and is going to go to Clemson. HUGE win for Dabo and a big loss for Bama. Things started well for the Evil Empire when they signed Patrick Surtain Jr. but it’s been downhill from there. Losing Quay to Georgia and Justin Ross to Clemson will really sting.

1.00pm:

Now that he seems to be done signing prospects, Kirby looks to have filled out his coaching staff. He’s going to be bringing Scott Fountain back from Missisppi State to coach special teams. Wide Reciever coach Cortez Hankton also looks set to join the Dawgs.

Fountain was an analyst for UGA last year after a long career at Auburn. He should slide into the Shane Beamer role really well. The Hankton arrival is really interesting though. It means that James Coley might find himself in a new position going forward. Rumors are that he might end up coaching QB’s and be more involved in the game plan going forward.

While hes not a household name, I’m bullish on Hankton. Anyone who can pull in 4-star receiver to Vandy can clearly recruit. It’s going to be exciting what he can do with UGA’s resources behind him.

I still don’t know how Kirby does this…

12.35pm:

Ok, so I have no idea how Georgia are going to make this work. I thought that they might only have 4 spots today, a maximum of 5 that was for sure. But UGA has found a way to sign 6 players, so I have no idea how exactly the are going to manage to get all these guys on campus.

But that’s a problem for another time. Today has been a simply ridiculous waterfall for Georgia fans AGAIN. Kirby is putting the rest of college football on notice right now. Georgia has arrived, and that is utterly terrifying if you’re another program.

12.25pm:

Hang on, what on earth… Georgia just got Tommy Bush as well?

This means that Georgia must have persuaded on of these signees to Greyshirt, meaning that they won’t enroll until after the 2018 season. It’s basically what Alabama did last year. And it’s CRAZY.

HOW ARE YOU DOING THIS KIRBY?

12.17pm:

I know I shouldn’t love trolling a team that didn’t win a single SEC game last year quite so much… But Vols fans have been utterly insufferable ever since they hired Pruitt. Here’s another grade A slap down from their now second most hated human being in Cade Mays

12.15pm:

Another video of the Quay Walker commitment. It just gets better and better every time you watch it… Also, best signing day hat ever?

12.12pm:

I’m 90% sure that UGA is done for the day now. They certainly can’t take any more 2018 prospects thats for sure. We’ll have to keep an eye out for when those signing letters officially reach Athens of course.

12.06pm:

Dawgs might be done in 2018, but they aren’t finished for the day yet. 2019 tight end Ryan Goede has committed to UGA. He’s childhood friends with 2 other 2019 UGA commits in Dominick Blaylock and JD Bertrand who took part in his commitment. Going to be awesome to see these 3 play together.

12.01pm:

It’s even better than I thought!! Quay actually puts the Vol’s hat on, then rips it off, throws it away and revels himself to be wearing all UGA gear!!!

Signing day folklore that one… Masterful

12.00pm:

Apparently, when Walker committed, he picked up a Tennessee hat, threw it away and picked up the UGA one. That’s a pretty good way to win over Dawgs fans. I can almost taste the Vol’s fans tears from here.

Delicious….

If I can find a gif, I’ll share it

11.55am:

That amazing moment where you have the number 1 class in the country and still want to sign more:

Unfortunately UGA can’t sign any more players in the 2018 class. They have received 25 commitments and that is the max. And seriously, I don’t think UGA could have imagined 25 better players.

This class is stacked guys.

11.49am:

WOOWWWWWW. Georgia Flips linebacker Quay Walker from Alabama. More importantly, they keep him out of the clutches of Jeremy Pruitt in Tennessee.

11.19am:

Otis Reese’s paperwork is in the books. He’s officially a Dawg!

11.15am:

With 4 commits, UGA now has room for at max, 1 more player. I’m not entirely sure if Georgia do have the 5 spaces some seem to think that they have. If they do, then they have a chance to sign either Quay Walker or Tommy Bush.

Walker is going to decide first and his announcement should be coming in about 20 minutes. You can watch it here on facebook:

The paperwork has officially arrived for Jordan Davis as well. UGA was one of several programs who had their twitter account suspended earlier today. Looks like things are back to normal however. Look for the other graphics to come up as soon as their paperwork arrives in Athens.

10.47am:

While everyone was watching Reese, UGA got another signing. This one was a lot quieter. Tramel Walthour has signed his papers to play for UGA.

10.43am:

Wow, Kirby Smart does it again. The Dawgs have flipped Otis Reese from Michagin. That means that UGA has signed 2 top 100 players already and we haven’t even got to 11am yet.

10.22am:

Campbell’s decision gives UGA 7 5-star recruits. Now, will Kirby get a bit more magic done and pull a flip as well…

10.17am:

Georgia starts signing day with a bang. 5-star cornerback Tyson Campbell is a Dawg!

10.12am:

two of Campbell’s high school teammates committed with ‘Chucky’ dolls on their laps… I want no part of that. It was terrifying.

10.10am:

Tyson Campbell and Otis Reese are about to announce….

9.55am:

If you’re looking for a live feed to the Tyson Campbell decision, SEC Country has got you covered here:

9.50am:

Wow, former Dawg commit Caleb Tannor has pulled a shocker and committed to Nebraska! Tannor was expected to go to either Florida or Auburn. This is great news for Dawg fans. Tannor is a really good player who just didn’t fit in a position group as loaded as UGA is right now at OLB.

Take a Bow Scott Frost, that’s a big time recruiting win!

9.15am:

It’s going to be 10am when we find out about a couple of these players. Tyson Campbell and Otis Reese will be deciding then which could tell us a lot about how this day is going to go for UGA.

8.30am:

Good morning Dawg fans, I hope you’re ready for the big day, I know I am! For those of you who didn’t get a chance, check out the mock class that we did yesterday. Time to see if we end up right or not. Let’s see is Kirby and co call close this thing out strong!

Alrighty then… Let the madness begin…
