How did he end up at UGA?

UGA’s interest in Bush seemed to come along really late. It wasn’t truly until after early signing day that Georgia was publically taking interest in him. Before then, they had two wide receivers in their class, Kearis Jackson and Elijah Moore. But Moore flipped to Ole Miss on signing day which opened up space on their roster.

Truth be told, it looks like Moore’s decision was a mutual one. Moore and Jackson are relatively similar players. Both are shortish but quick receivers. Jackson is the stronger of the two and he’s a Peach State player. It’s not hard to understand why he was prioritised over Moore.

It looks like the Dawgs decided to target a bigger receiver as their second pass catcher in this class. That’s where Bush came in. Standing at 6-5, Bush has the same kind of skillset as the now departed Javon Wims. He’s actually probably faster than Wims, so he has the potential to be even more of a deep threat.

Bush was a big priority for offensive coordinator Jim Chaney. Wide Receivers coach James Coley was often focused on other targets such as Tyson Campbell due to his Florida connections. Chaney focused on Bush and was able to bring him into the class. That’s worth remembered next time you hear someone say Chaney never recruits anybody.

He made his decision on ESPN on National Signing Day. By choosing Georgia, he essentially rounded out what is probably the best class in UGA recruiting history.
