Georgia Football 2018 recruit: Receiver Tommy Bush
What can we expect in Athens?
One of the things that Fromm really excelled at in 2017 was the back shoulder throw. It’s a throw that young players normally struggle to make because it requires a great deal of touch and accuracy. However, Fromm stepped up straight away and made it one of his go-to plays.
Most of those throws went to Wims, who showed time and again that he would beat his man and catch them. Bush should be a similar player for Georgia when it’s all said and done. He’s a natural at positioning himself as well as going up and catching the ball at the highest possible point. Don’t underestimate his speed either. When Bush gets going, only a very fast cornerback is going to catch him.
Bush will walk into a very talented and experienced wide receiver room in 2018. Terry Godwin and Mecole Hardman are both smaller, quicker players who are dangerous whenever they get the ball in their hands. Riley Ridley and JJ Holloman are both more traditional outside receivers who spent time learning behind Wims last year.
But with Wims now gone, there is space for a receiver to step up and play. Based on his performance in the national championship game, I would expect that to be Ridley. However, none of those guys has the same height that Bush has. The new guy can certainly bring something different to the party.
Next: Now lets check out hard hitting Otis Reese
It might take him some time, but Bush will have an impact at Georgia. His skill set lines up really well with how UGA likes to use their outside receivers. Expect him to get some specific looks earlier on before eventually winning a starting job before his time in Athens ends.
