How did he end up at UGA?

Walthour had one of the most boring recruitment’s of the new Dawgs. While lots of players bounce back and forth with schools, Walthour never really seemed to. He’s been focused on being a Dawg for a very long time. When the time came to commit, he did so in a very simple way.

While Dawg fans slept one night in September, Walthour tweeted out a quick commitment. That was it, he was done. No video, no hats on a table, just that he’s made his decision. Pretty simple even if it did give UGA fans a nice bit of news to wake up to.

Since then, Walthour hasn’t been listening to other schools. There was some interest when he didn’t sign with Georgia during the early signing period. Lots of people thought that meant that either he or Georgia was going to move on. But that didn’t happen. Walthour wanted to celebrate signing day like his fellow students but he was always going to sign with Georgia. He wasn’t really interested in other schools.

Despite what some fans thought, UGA was committed to Walthour as well. Yes he doesn’t have the high rankings some fans like, but watching his film, you’ll understand why. He’s certainly going to bring something to Georgia’s defensive line over the next few years.
