Georgia Football 2018 recruit: DT Jordan Davis
How did he end up at UGA?
Davis was a long time target for defensive line coach Tray Scott. coming from North Carolina, Scott spent plenty of time scouting Davis when he was in his backyard of Mallard Creek. Unlike a lot of UGA’s signee’s Davis did not have an extensive offer list. But the names he did have were pretty impressive.
As well as his in-state schools, Davis had plenty of attention from big-time programs. Clemson and Miami were very high on him as were Florida and Florida State. Georgia got in on him relatively late and really only pushed for him when Scott arrived after the 2017 national signing day.
But there is a reason that UGA and the other schools were so interested. Davis is a monster of a man in terms of size. Even Michigan reached out and offered him, knowing that he was the type of player who could have a major impact on Saturdays if he develops.
In November however, Davis was ready to make his decision and he chose Georgia. While he didn’t sign in December, it was clear that he was going to be staying with the Dawgs. Much like Tramel Walthour, Davis did not take visits to other schools. He was locked into UGA and signed at a ceremony on national signing day.
