Tray Bishop, S, Redshirt Freshman

In terms of pure physical talent, Tray Bishop might rank number one out of all these players. Bishop stands at 6ft2 with tremendous athleticism. He was a dominant high school run first QB during his time in high school and he has all of the tools that you look for from a dynamic shutdown DB.

Bishop has the ability to play corner if needed, but with some of the talent that is now there, I think it’s more likely he ends up playing safety. That’s where he was initially projected and the position suits him. He’s a smart player who will be at his best when given the chance to read the field and make decisions.

Unlike the other players mentioned before, Bishop wasn’t a player who I saw on the field this year. He had a lot to learn having not been a DB before, but I think having a full season in the program will have helped. He should be ready in 2018.

I don’t expect Bishop to win a starting spot, but I do think he’s going to make a big push in 2018. With DeAngelo Gibbs out for spring, Bishop has a chance to get on the two-deep and see the field. He’ll be another guy to watch out for on G-day because UGA is going to need him to step up on that second unit.
