3. November 10th vs. Auburn

Georgia will play Auburn in Athens on November 10th in what is sure to be a slugging match between two SEC heavyweights. You can bet Georgia still has last year’s regular season 40-17 blowout loss to Auburn on its mind. And you can also bet Auburn has last season’s 28-7 blowout loss to Georgia in the SEC Championship on its mind as well.

Luckily, Georgia has the home-field advantage this year against Auburn. Last year’s atmosphere was so wild in Jordan-Hare stadium that it caused the Dawgs to make way too many mistakes to even have a chance at winning that game. Expect the tables to turn this year as the Bulldog Nation will give Auburn everything its got for 60 minutes.

Auburn also lost quite a bit of talent from its 2017 roster to the NFL draft. However, dynamic quarterback Jarrett Stidham is back to lead the Tigers’ high-powered offense once again. Auburn definitely has a lot of talent to replace in every other position group on the offensive side of the ball, but having the quarterback position stabilized should make that easier for Gus Malzahn’s staff to do.

I’m looking at this game in 2018 as Georgia’s statement game. Georgia could very well be undefeated going into this game just like last year. And again, if the SEC East is not very competitive in 2018, Georgia will probably not get much respect for a 9-0 record going into this game due to what some may call a relatively easy schedule.

That’s why it’s extremely important for Georgia to not only win this game, but to dominate it. I firmly believe Auburn will be the best team Georgia faces in the 2018 regular season. If the Georgia football wants to show the college football world that its back from last year’s devastation in the national championship game, a convincing win over a good Auburn team will certainly help the Dawgs show it.
