Javon Wims continues to improve his stock:

Another player who needed to show his speed to scouts was Wims. He measured a little shorter than expected at the Combine, but he ran the 40-yard dash in 4.53 seconds, showing better speed than expected.

a few weeks later, Wims ran a 4.47 in the 40 and showed that he’s continuing to improve and get better. I’ve said since the offseason started that I think that Wims is going to find a way into the draft. Initially, it was as a late round pick, but as the process has gone on, I really think he might surprise some people. I know I’m biased, but I don’t think that there are that many wide receivers in this draft that are better than him. I could see him potentially going at the end of day 2.

If he climbs up to the 3rd round, it would be a huge achievement for Wims. Coming into the season, he wasn’t even sure to win a spot on the outside. He’s essentially a one year wonder having only started football very late, but what a year. He became the number one receiver on a championship level team and really impressed.

Wims has great body control and is terrific at catching the ball. He’s a lot rawer than most of the players that are in the draft despite the fact that he’s a senior. Having only started playing football towards the end of his time in high school, he clearly has room to grow. But the talent is clearly there. Whoever picks him up is going to be very lucky.
