Will he stick with his commitment?

Perry has seen his stock rise quite a bit since he committed to Georgia. He recently received offers from Florida State and Penn State. Florida, Michigan and Clemson have also all offered him since he committed to UGA back in October.

Perry now boasts a lot of great schools on his list. Despite this, I do not see him leaving the state right now. Perry has been a pretty low key member of this class, but this is a pretty tight group. Unless something dramatic was to happen, I can’t see him deciding to just go elsewhere.

Could the number of spots available in the secondary this class effect Perry? I don’t think so. Even if UGA decides to just take 3 DBs, I think they will be hard pressed to find 3 better than him. While he’s only the 14th best CB in the class, he’s the 2nd best in the state of Georgia behind only Andrew Booth. I think he’s someone Kirby Smart will want no matter what.

Other programs will come after Perry, that’s to be expected. He’s a highly talented player and some will see him as a two-way weapon with the ball in his hands. Others will also have lighter depth charts that could result in early playing time, but UGA has more to offer him than just the chance to stay home.

Deandre Baker’s growth, Mark Webb’s successful transition to the secondary and JR Reed’s emergence all show that this UGA coaching staff can really develop defensive backs. Kirby Smart and Mel Tucker are two of the best in the entire business at that. In Athens, Perry has the best chance to fully learn his craft and become a potential shutdown cornerback. That is one of the main reasons why I think he remains a key part of the 2019 class.
