2018 Georgia Football NFL Draft Prospect: RB Sony Michel
Dawn of the Dawg Draft prediction:
Like I said, Michel really could do anywhere. When you go down the draft list, you can pencil him in at petty much any spot. Detroit Lions? Sure thing, they haven’t had a good running back in forever. New England Patriots? Yuck, I hate the pats, but damn he’d make a 40 year old Tom Brady’s life a lot easier. The Eagles? They just won the Super Bowl and they don’t have a real running back. Think what they could do with someone like Sony.
Ultimately, I think that Michel is going to end up slipping to the second round. I prefer him to Guice but I’m well aware that I’m in the minority on this one. If there is a 2nd running back taken in the first, it will probably be Guice. As good as Michel is, I just can’t imagine 3 RB’s go in the first round in this day and age.
So that brings us to the top of the 2nd round. That’s where I think Michel finds a home and I think it will be early. The team that would be the perfect fit is the Indianapolis Colts. Having traded down with the Jets, the Colts now have three 2nd round picks in the top half of the round. The can grab Michel at pick 36 and then load up on other talent.
Pairing Michel with Andrew Luck and perhaps a couple of new offensive linemen. Now that sounds like an awfully smart way to build a football team. Luck has never had a real running game since he arrived in the pro’s. Just think what he could do with a versatile weapon like Michel. It would be like Peyton Manning and Edgerrin James all over again, only this time, both guys are freak athletes!

Please football gods, make this one happen. The imaginary fantasy roster that I am building in my head would be insane…
