There are a staggering number of weapons in the offense:

It’s one thing to have great QB play. It’s another when you also have elite weapons all around them. UGA’s offense could end up being pretty dam exciting next year. Not only are they going to have fantastic production from two highly talented QBs. But they will also be surrounding them with the sorts of weapons play callers dream about.

By all accounts, UGA’s top 3 wideouts are really standing out right now. Terry Godwin, Riley Ridley and Mecole Hardman are all continuing to get better and better. They are being pushed by some really talented players, but all three of them keep improving. There’s a real chance that those three guys blow up a lot of secondaries next year.

Then there’s the running backs. D’Andre Swift has been battling a minor injury but looked good. He’s lost a little weight an looks even quicker than he did last year. Considering how explosive he was, that’s saying something. Then Brian Herrien and Elijah Holyfield are both playing really well, desperate to win playing time. I’m not expecting UGA’s running game to miss a beat to be honest this year.

Then there’s the tight ends. Last year, they were the most underutilized part of the offense. That’s something I think is going to change in 2018. Part of that is because OC Jim Chaney is now coaching them rather than QB’s, but it’s also because Issac Nauta seems to have woken up. The light seems to have come on and he’s practicing harder and better than ever before. If he keeps this up, he could be a game-changer.
