A lot more questions on the defensive side of the ball:

Onto the other side of the ball and things are a bit different. Georgia has been a bit banged up on the defensive line and it doesn’t have the same depth it has on the offensive side. Michael Barnett is a player that looked good early on and is now out for the rest of camp. The same is true for Freshman Divaad Wilson at cornerback.

In the front 7, things are looking pretty good from the starters. The D-line is being led by Jonathan Ledbetter an Tyler Clark and it looks impressive. They struggle a bit when you get further down the depth chart but that’s to be expected. Players like DeQuan Hawkins-Muckle need to step up on G-Day and show what they can do.

The other area of concern is the secondary. Georgia is losing a lot of experience back there, including three starters. Right now, there is a real battle going on for two positions, outside cornerback and the star/slot role. Mark Webb has made an impression on the former and he might end up starting on G-day. The Star very much seems to be up for grabs and lots of players could have a shot again this summer.

Richard LeCounte and JR Reed seem to have secured the starting safety roles and Deandre Baker should continue to be a lockdown corner this year. Baker will know that one more great year likely pushes him into the 1st round draft conversation.
