2018 Georgia Football NFL Draft Prospect: RB Nick Chubb
Dawn of the Dawg Draft prediction:
The real key when it comes to predicting where Chubb lands is figuring out what teams want tough runners. A lot of teams need running backs, but many like to find guys that are better in space and all around weapons. Whoever picks Chubb should want to run a power run game at times.
He’s more versatile than many give him credit for, but his ability to wear defenses down and then hit the big play is what makes him so dangerous. That’s why I think the team that makes the most sense is the Detroit Lions.
Having brought in Bob Quinn as General manager and Matt Patricia as Head Coach, the Lions are now officially the ‘Patriot’s light’. One of the things that the Pats have done so effectively is prepared game plans for specific teams depending on their strengths and weaknesses. I don’t know if the Lions are going to do the same, but they desperately need some balance on their offense.
Matthew Stafford has become a top flight QB. What he needs is a running game to help him out a bit. The Lions drafted Ameer Abdullah to do that but he’s been injured and he hasn’t shown he can tote the rock. I also don’t expect LeGarrette Blount to suddenly do much outside of New England.

Chubb’s strengths go perfectly with what the Lions need. He can run the ball inside, bounce outside AND he’s always available. Putting him on this team could give them a real shot of having a 1000 yard runner for the first time since Reggie Bush in 2013. He would add some grit to a truly dynamic offense and make it even harder to stop.
