2. Ahkil Crumpton – Slot Receiver

With the one-hand touch rule and a relentless pass rush, Fields had to get rid of passes quickly. Luckily, he had Ahkil Crumpton to pass to. Crumpton received five quick passes from Fields and then used his athleticism to gain 60 yards.

He’s had a year to adjust to the SEC game from junior college. Late 2017, we saw glimpses of his potential, but I think he’s ready to shine in 2018. Georgia is going to have their best receiving corps in years this season. He’s is a major part of that because of plays we saw at G-Day. With Godwin and Ridley downfield, and Hardman going inside, teams might forget about covering Crumpton.

1. Monty Rice – Inside Linebacker

Monty Rice will tell you all day and night that he isn’t ready to take over for Roquan Smith and that his G-Day performance wasn’t that great. But as someone who’s watched the game and read the stats, there’s no doubt Rice was the MVP of G-Day.

He led all defensive players with 14 tackles with one sack. No one else had more than six tackles. His tackles, like Smith last season, came all over the field. In the backfield, down field, on the sidelines. If Rice can bring that style of play to the 2018 season, he’ll cure the doubts of everyone in the Bulldog Nation.
