Sony Michel RB

Alistair: 2nd round, pick 35, Colts

There has been an awful lot of draft buzz about Michel as the draft gets closer. Lots of people are pushing him up into the first round and to be honest, I can understand it. There isn’t a great deal he can’t do. With Andrew Luck coming back from an injury, the Colts need someone else to generate offense on their own. Look no further than Michel who really can do it all. If he falls this far, I think the Colts run and hand in the card as fast as they can.

Davis: 1st Round, pick 32, Eagles

The Eagles may eventually trade out of this pick. If they don’t, they pull the trigger on the second best running back in this draft class in Sony Michel. The Eagles need a running back after LaGarrette Blount departed for free agency. The former Bulldog legend goes to a contender where he’ll get to make plenty of explosive plays as a rookie.

Kyle: 1st round, pick 20, Lions

Matthew Stafford is getting older and he’s taken some licks over the years. The obvious remedy is the offensive line, but even a great offensive line can’t completely protect if the defenses expect a downfield pass all game. The Lions need to improve at running back, not just to develop the running game, but to add a solid short passing game. Enter Sony Michel.

Mike: 2nd round, pick 34, Giants.

I’ve seen a recent Todd McShay mock draft showing Sony going late in the 1st to Detroit. I believe he will slip to the second and make those who passed on him regret it. This guy is going to be a great NFL all-purpose back and the Giants could use a playmaker like him. If he went to a team like the Giants where it would be obvious he was drafted to take on lead back duties, he may be a sneaky late-round fantasy football pick as well for me and my fellow fantasy football players. Michel could put up some Alvin Kamara numbers.
