Lorenzo Carter LB

Alistair: 2nd round, pick 45, Packers

Again, this is another one that I’ve been thinking for a while. I love Carter and think he probably should be a first-round pick. But his lack of pass rushing in college will likely hurt him in my mind. I don’t view him as a pure pass rusher which is why I think he ends up dropping. However, I don’t think he could fall into a much better spot than this. He’ll slide in perfectly with the Packers where he can play any linebacker position and make an impact.

Davis: 2nd Round, pick 54, Chiefs

Andy Reid drafts Carter in the second round and provides the Chiefs defense with some much-needed help with its pass rush. Carter also will get to learn from former Bulldog Justin Houston who will no doubt serve as a mentor to the young rookie during his early times in Kansas City,

Kyle: 2nd Round, pick 36 or 37, Colts

Remember what I said earlier when I predicted the Colts to draft Roquan Smith? Well, they also need some new edge rushers to help with that transition to a 4-3. The Colts have a lot of other needs to address, but they have three of the first 37 picks, including back-to-back picks at 36 and 37. They can use one on Carter to try to develop an outside pass rush.

Mike: 1st Round, pick 21, Bengals.

I’m basing this one on history. Cincinnati has been known to like taking UGA players like David Pollack, AJ Green, and Geno Atkins. Carter has great NFL potential and the Bengals would be smart to use this 1st round pick on him. Some of their other Dawg picks have worked out pretty well for them.
