Landing spots for Georgia Bulldogs in the 2018 NFL Draft
Nick Chubb RB
Alistair: 2nd Round, pick 51, Lions
I continue to think that Chubb would be a perfect fit for the Lions. As a downhill runner, he could bring something that they haven’t had for a very long time. He would also be the perfect complement to Matthew Stafford and the Lions passing game. But it’s more than that. I think that Chubb is more versatile than many give him credit for. He gives new head coach Matt Patricia a hard-working, blue-collar player to build a running game around.
Davis: 2nd Round, pick 38, Buccaneers
Tampa Bay needs a running back to help Jameis Winston and Mike Evans on offense. In what may turn out to be the biggest steal of the draft, the Buccaneers get to draft the SEC’s 2nd all-time leading rusher in the second round of the draft. Chubb will get to come back to Georgia once a year to play the Falcons in front of many of the same fans who cheered for him in college.
Kyle: 3rd Round, pick 66, Giants
Nick Chubb has two factors going against him. His injury and the fact that many NFL teams don’t play true smashmouth football anymore. But the Giants run game is abysmal and Nick Chubb will likely be available in the early third round because of injury concerns and an issue with his style of play.
Mike: 2nd Round, pick 52, Ravens.
What can I tell ya about Chubb that you don’t already know? One of the most talented, hard working backs in this draft. If he hadn’t got injured in his college career, he would probably be sitting in the top 5 draft pick seat that Saquon Barkley is sitting in now. His tough, hard nose style will fit in well in Baltimore.
