Isaiah Wynn and Sony Michel: Round 1 New England Patriots

Bill Belichick seems to love him some Dawgs. Now its hard for a lot of Georgia fans to like the Patriots. They did, after all, ruin the Falcons SuperBowl shot just 2 years ago, However, the guy doesn’t tend to make many bad draft picks and there are not many better places for these two guys to land.

By the sounds of it, Wynn is going to be coming in as a tackle and will replace Nate Solder on the left side. That’s a bold move because a lot of scouts thought that he’d be a better fit inside at guard. But Belichick must have seen something others didn’t. Wynn did play incredibly well at LT during his final season in Athens. It will be a challenge to do the same in the NFL, but it’s one he certainly could rise to.

He’ll be blocking for another former teammate. Sony Michel will certainly help take the pressure off of Tom Brady. The Pats ignored drafting a QB until the 7th round when the took LSU’s, Danny Etling. In short, they are all in on the 41-year-old Brady. So they will need more weapons to help him as he continues to age.

Michel will help a lot. He was one of the most versatile backs in the class. He can catch the ball and run with power and speed. Michel is also a great pass blocker which is necessary when you have an older QB. I can easily see him becoming Brady’s new best friend and a fan favorite pretty quickly.
