Nakobe Dean:

Almost as soon as Pappoe made his decision, UGA’s coaches were springing to action. Dean is a player who is right on he heels of Pappoe in terms of the top ranked ILB. According to 247, Dean is the top guy, but that is because they have Pappoe as an OLB. Still, Dean has it all in terms of what teams are looking for from an inside guy. Size, speed and the guy is a tackling machine.

Dean is pretty much the same size as Pappoe and he looks similar on film. His athletic ability is freaky and the guy explodes on plays. One of the things I like most about his film is that he’s actually rather good in coverage. That’s one of the things that he will be asked to do a lot in this scheme.

Unsurprisingly, Dean is one of the most sought after players in America. Much like Pappoe, the guy has most of the big programs chasing after him. Will it be tougher to pull in someone from Mississippi than it would be keeping a guy in state? Sure, but that doesn’t mean its impossible, especially for Kirby Smart and his recruiters.

I’m not saying UGA will get Dean. Alabama have been after him heavily for a long time and are currently the leader. But it shouldn’t be ignored that he’s coming to Athens so soon after Pappoe’s decision.
