Georgia Football has big expectations for the 2018 season but none of that will matter if they can’t beat Austin Peay to start the season.

So Dawg fans, we’re finally here. The summer has arrived and you know what that means. That’s right, its time to start doing some 2018 season previews. We’ll be bringing you lots of Georgia Football content over the next 3 months as we build up to what should be a very exciting season.

The Dawgs go into a 2018 season with high expectations. Having reached the national championship game last year, they put together one of the best seasons the team has had in decades. Now they go into this upcoming year with a target on their back. The Dawgs won the SEC East and the conference last year. They will be the team everyone in their division is desperate to beat and that is going to be an adjustment. UGA isn’t going to be creeping up on anyone this year.

They should also benefit from a schedule that shapes out really nicely for Georgia. The SEC East remains a bit down as Florida and Tennessee continue to rebuild. They also get an LSU team that looks weaker than it has in several years and Auburn will be coming to Athens. Add a very weak out of conference schedule and the Dawgs have little room for error. To make it to the playoff again, the Dawgs will likely have to go undefeated until the SEC Title game.

They will start the season against probably the weakest team on their schedule. The Austin Peay Governors are an FCS school that made a big turnaround last season. So what can UGA expect from a team that many fans had not heard of until this year?
