If you’re a Dawg fan, it’s going to be a tense weekend. Georgia Baseball and Softball are both going to be in do or die situations in the NCAA Tournaments.

Its going to be a big weekend for Dawg fans. The Georgia Baseball and Softball teams will kick off their NCAA campaigns. It’s the first time in a long time that both teams have made the Tournament and have a reasonable chance to make runs. The Baseball team hold the number 8 seed whereas the Softball team are ranked number 7. Dawngnation.com has a great breakdown of this weekends games that can be found here.

The Lady Dawgs have actually already started. They went through their initial pool and reached the World Series bracket. Unfortunately, they lost in a blowout game to Florida 11-3 yesterday. They now no longer have any rope left available to them. It’s win the next game or go home. If they can do that and beat Florida State, they will have one more elimination game. There, they will have to defeat Florida, UCLA or FSU. Win that and they will reach the finals and have a shot to win it all.

In baseball, the team still have a lot to play for. They have Campbell, Duke and Troy in their initial bracket. This weekend, they will start their campaign and they will hope to come out of hat bracket unscathed. If they do, they will likely face Texas Tech for a spot in the World Series bracket.
