Georgia Football is going to a second 2018 recruit head to Junior College with Nadab Joseph enrolling at Independence Community College.
Well, it looks like Georgia Football will not be signing 26 players in this 2018 recruiting class after all. Nadab Joseph who committed to UGA out of left field on December 22nd has enrolled in a JUCO college.
Jeff Sentell of Dawgnation.com is reporting that Joseph has signed with Independence Community College in Kansas. Joseph was homeschooled for part of his time in high school. This seems to have made it a tough challenge for him to qualify for UGA this year.
He joins Tramel Walthour as a 2018 recruit who will not be coming to Athens this summer. There might be a difference between the two. Walthour is expected to just take a year at the JUCO ranks, similarly to Devonte Wyatt last year. Sentell reports that Joseph will likely be at Community College for 2 years. It’s going to be tough for him to catch up academically in just a year.
It’s a bit of a blow for UGA because Joseph is a player. They flipped him from Alabama and he’s a very talented kid. He was a top 150 player for a lot of scouts. This was a guy that was expected to come in and compete at safety from day one.
Next: 82 days until the season!
Joseph will also be missed with Freshman Divaad Wilson getting a knee injury. The secondary remains a work in progress for the Dawgs and they are now a body down. Sentell reports that Joseph still plans to enroll at UGA as soon as he can. It just might take a little longer than he and many fans hoped.
