2017/2018 will be looked back upon as a much better year for Georgia Bulldogs sport.

It’s certainly been a better year for Georgia Bulldogs fans. 2017/2018 has brought a lot of pride to UGA fans with a great deal of improvement in a lot of the sports teams. The consistent improvement across the board is going to pay benefits in the national Directors Cup. The trophy that is awarded for how schools do in ALL sports will once again go to Stanford this season. However, Georgia is currently 9th and will be a top 10 team once the baseball scores are added.

This will be the first time UGA has been in the top 10 in a decade. That year the Dawgs finished 10th and the best performance the school has achieved was 3rd in 2000/2001. Their recent success has been achieved thanks to a dramatic improvement in a number of sports for the Dawgs.

The Football team earned most of the plaudits early on, winning the SEC and narrowly losing the National Championship. The Field and track team has had a tremendous season. The Women’s team took the Indoor national championship in march and the Men.s won the Outdoor title this past week. We’ve seen a revival in Softball and Baseball this season as well which certainly helped in the points.

It’s not all good, the Basketball team stumbled and has hired Tom Crean to had up the program. Both Tennis teams had down years which was rare. They continue to be two of the strongest programs on campus and should be back to their best next year.

Next: 80 Days until kickoff!

But all in all, this past year was a very successful one for the Georgia Bulldogs and their sport teams. Hopefully next year will be even better!
