Richard LeCounte’s time is now:

None of the young player we’re looking at today have more pressure on them than Richard LeCounte. A 5-star safety in the 2017 class, LeCounte was one of the pied pipers of that recruiting class. He’s a natural leader that players seem to flock to which is pretty great for a free safety. But perhaps more importantly, he’s also a heck of an athlete and he brings some things to the back end of the UGA defense that we have not seen in a very long time.

From a physical perspective the guy has it all. He’s not the biggest safety but it doesn’t matter. The guy brings the woo and is one of the more explosive hitters I’ve seen. He’s also a ball hawk who should make plays deep much like Dominick Sanders used to. Here’s an example of how his physicality can effect a play:

I’ve been a huge fan of LeCounte since his signing and this team needs him to step up. If he can become the player we all thought he was coming out of high school, UGA could have one of the best secondaries in America. With him and JR Reed patrolling the back end, it’s going to make Georgia very difficult to score on. They’ll also both be intimidating hitters who will make slant routes a painful experience for a receiver.

After a solid G-Day performance, LeCounte’s time is now. The guy has everything Kirby Smart wants from a safety and that’s why he’s put so much faith in him. If LeCounte can deliver, opposing receivers had better watch out.
