Georgia Football found its 2019 QB when it got a commitment from John Rhys Plumlee who is one of the best athletes in his class.

It took a while, but it looks like Georgia Football finally found its 2019 QB. John Rhys Plumlee committed to Georgia on Friday night. He’s an exciting player when you watch his film and it looks like he came to his decision after a recent camp in Athens.

With Jake Fromm and Justin Fields in town, the Dawgs are rightly being picky at QB. They know that a lot of the top prospects are going to pass on coming to Athens. Those players do not want to come in and have 2-3 years of being at best a backup. That’s why UGA looked at Plumlee and others, guys with lots of talent but who were further away from being ready to start.

Plumlee is just that, a highly talented guy who doesn’t have the polish of Fields and Fromm. But Georgia does offer him a terrific chance to learn and develop. Not only will he get to work with some very good coaches, but he will also have a chance to learn under 2 of the better QBs in the nation. It’s a win-win for both parties as UGA gets some depth for the future and Plumlee has a chance to get better.

Add in the fact that he’s a talented baseball player and it looks like the Dawgs have really landed someone special. If he can contribute for the Dawgs in 2 sports, then he’ll more than earn his scholarship. So let’s take a quick look at his film and see what UGA fans can expect from Plumlee in Athens.
