Watching the tape:

When you put on his highlights from his junior season, Plumlee’s first play jumps out. Not many QB’s have a 95-yard touchdown run on their film after all. That and several other runs really highlight why he’s being listed as an athlete on the recruiting websites. The guy can really is a player who can go out and beat teams with his legs.

There are flashes of Justin Fields when he runs. Plumlee isn’t quite that type of athlete but to be honest, he’s actually pretty close. He doesn’t quite have the size and speed that Fields does, but he runs in a similar way. He has an elusive type of running ability and can get physical when he needs to. At points, he tries to run over and through opposing defenders and at others he jumps over or jukes past them.

That being said, I find it odd that he’s not listed as a QB on recruiting sites. The guy can clearly throw the ball and while he doesn’t have perfect mechanics, they’re actually pretty decent. There are some things that he needs to clean up but it’s obvious that Plumlee has a live arm. He can make all the throws if he needs to and he’s got the tools that Kirby Smart’s coaches were looking for.

He’s raw and a lot of his great throws are to wide open receivers. You don’t see him make throws into tight windows but that’s to be expected with a player with this type of grade. He’s a work in progress but the Dawgs will be thrilled to have him commit to the G.
