Just because the season is over, doesn’t mean that we can’t watch any Georgia football. There are many channels on YouTube with new and old highlights.
For Georgia football fans, there’s nothing better than watching the Dawgs win. But with only 12-to-15 games a year, that leaves a lot of days on the calendar without any football to watch. That’s where YouTube comes in.
Many talented and resourceful members of the Bulldog Nation have taken it upon themselves to upload highlights and even full games for our enjoyment. Some of them are still active and posting videos. Other’s have been dormant for a while but have left behind a lengthy catalog of videos.
Which channels are the go to for Georgia fans? Who can you always rely on to have the content to fill your needs until another Georgia football Saturday? Here are a few channels that I have found on YouTube that every Georgia fan with an internet connection should check out.
About Them Dawgs!
Of course we have to start this list with About Them Dawgs! A YouTube channel ran by Patrick Garbin. The channel is maintained along side his blog, About Them Dawgs Blawg. But you likely recognize Garbin’s name from other media. He’s written seven books, six about Georgia football. And he once contributed to Dawn of the Dawg.
Garbin is one of the great historians of Georgia football. And if you’re ever curious about some random facts about the Dawgs, his blog is full of them. He posts new videos to his YouTube channel fairly often. His library has the videos you’ve been looking and occasionally the video you didn’t know you were looking for.
Most of his videos are short clips, less than three minutes long. Some are just audio of Larry Munson calling plays. But with an expanding library of videos, About Them Dawgs! is becoming one of those channels you can get lost in watching videos for hours.
HaydenYT
HaydenYT is the best for current Georgia football content. He began posting Georgia football highlights this past season. All of his videos are high definition and free of distracting music. Instead, he uses audio from the broadcast. He even has two highlights for some games, one with the TV announcers and the other with the Georgia Bulldog Radio Network.
His highlights are long. Their length depends on how many highlights Georgia had that game. The Missouri game video for instance is over 20 minutes long. He also posts videos quickly. You can expect to see his highlights uploaded to YouTube on Sunday’s.
He doesn’t just have game highlights either. Hayden has videos for Nick Chubb, Sony Michel, Javon Wims and Roquan Smith and many other players. Last month he posted a video of every touchdown Georgia scored in 2017.
But it gets better. Hayden has more than just Georgia football videos on his channel. He is a go to source for Georgia basketball, Atlanta United, Braves, Hawks and Falcons highlights. Check him out as soon as possible if you’re looking for some videos of the 2017 Bulldogs or of the first place Atlanta United and Atlanta Braves ball clubs.
Carlmilton
Unfortunately, the man behind the Carlmilton YouTube channel seemed to have run out of Georgia football content around five years ago. Since then he’s posted mostly Georgia high school football games from the 1980’s and 90’s. But you can still watch all of his Georgia videos which are mostly condensed versions of old games, mostly from the 1970’s and 80’s.
Some of those games you can watch now are the 1976 Cocktail Party (Fourth and Dumb), 1984 Cotton Bowl (UGA vs Texas), and 1982 Georgia versus Georgia Tech. If you don’t have time for a condensed game, he’s uploaded some clips from the Vince Dooley Show that include highlights of several games.
If you’re looking to watch an old Georgia football game, but don’t want to be stagnant for more than an hour, this is channel you should check out.
Prsonmike
Prsonmike is another inactive channel, but he has left behind a catalog of 57 complete games. Most of his videos are from the 2000’s and early 2010’s. But he has a few games from the 20th century, such as the 1996 Auburn game, 1981 Sugar Bowl and the 1993 Citrus Bowl.
There’s not much else to say about his channel. But if you’re looking for some complete games from the Mark Richt era, his is the channel to visit.
Other channels
The aforementioned channels are the best ones. But there are many other channels on YouTube with some great Georgia football content.
Dawgs Highlights
A precursor to HaydenYT. Dawgs Highlights was the go-to channel for game highlights during the 2015 and 2016 season.
Ghost of Erk Russell
A great name for any page displaying Georgia football media, the Ghost of Erk Russell has several short clips from the 1980’s.
UGA Vault
Another channel with short clips, the UGA Vault is the only official Georgia football channel on this list. This channel hasn’t been updated in two years, but you can download their app, which always updating, on the Google Play Store and on the iOS App Store.
