How his 2019 class looks right now

2018 looks to be just one bad year in terms of overall talent. 2019 and 2020 lok pretty damn loaded at the defensive tackle position which is really Scott’s main area of focus. The Dawgs have traditionally done very well recruiting the defensive end position since Kirby Smart arrived. Its the big guys in the middle where Scott needs to bring in talent over the next couple of classes.

He’s had a few early misses however. Georgia has 2 very talented DT’s in Jalen Humphries and Rashad Chaney who have both now committed to other SEC programs. Georgia essentially ignored both of them and focused on other targets. If you do that, you’d better hit on those guys, or you’re going to have some job security issues.

The Dawgs missed on CJ Clark, another North Carolina product that Scott was expected to get. With him now out, Scott is now having to figure out where to turn next at defensive tackle.

That doesn’t seem to be the case at defensive end. Bill Norton committed to UGA in the spring and he brings a lot of talent to that room. But right now, he’s the only defensive linemen who has committed to UGA out of 10 current commits. For a position group that needs help, right now, that’s not good enough.
