If Georgia Football finds a way to land Demetris Robertson then opposing defenses had better watch out, the Dawgs offense will be terrifying.

By no means does one player make an offense. But if Kirby Smart finds a way to lure Demetris Robertson onto the Georgia Football team, Dawg fans might want to get their popcorn ready. Robertson is one of the most explosive play makers in the entire of college football. He showed just how dangerous he could be in his freshman season at Cal where he lit up the PAC-12:

Freshmen receivers are not supposed to dominate like that. Yes it’s the Pac-12 and not the SEC, but that league has some decent defenses. They churn out good cornerbacks, many of whom play in the NFL. It’s no like Robertson was going up against scrubs by any mans.

His decision to leave Cal opens up UGA to a wonderful opportunity. Wonderful for them and terrifying for the rest of the SEC East. Robertson was timed as having a sub 4.40 40 yard dash while he was still in high school. If he were to transfer to UGA, we could be looking at the most dangerous receiver group in school history.

Robertson is likely only going to play one year at Georgia due to his talent. If he is able to play this coming season, UGA will be absolutely loaded at receiver. If he needs to sit out, the same can be said for 2019. Either way, he would take Georgia’s receiver corp to an entirely new level. This would be a quarterbacks dream situation. Throw in a 5-star offensive line and Zamir White, D’Andre Swift and James Cook… Baby, you’ve got a stew going.

Jake Fromm and Justin Fields would be in actual heaven for a season. With a group that good, who cares about being the starter, just put me in for a few series coach and watch me put up video game numbers.

Next: 72 days to go until football!

In short, if Kirby Smart can pull Robertson to Athens, he’ll be giving his offensive coaches more talent than UGA fans have ever seen before. He’ll also help Georgia to perhaps go one step further and win the National Championship. Now that’s something to get excited for!
