Former Georgia Bulldog Todd Gurley comes #6 in NFL top100

Former Georgia Bulldog Todd Gurley showed the entire NFL just how go he was in the 2017 season.

It’s still the offseason, so obviously the NFL.com website doesn’t have a huge amount to write about. This time every year, they do a list of their top 100 players in the NFL for the coming season. This year the Dawgs had one of their own place very highly in Todd Gurley.

Gurley ranked number 6 overall on the list. That ranking placed him as the highest ranking former Georgia Bulldog and the 2nd highest ranked running back. The Pittsburgh Steelers Le’Veon Bell ranked one place above him in 5th.

It’s another deserved accolade for Gurley who has fast become one of the best offensive players in football. The former Dawg won the award for offensive player of the year last season. He also made the Pro-Bowl and was named a first tea All-Pro.

He accounted for 19 touchdowns and over 2000 yards from scrimmage last year. The Rams playmaker proved just as dangerous in the passing game as he was a running back. He accounted for 788 yards in the air and was just the 8th back to run for over 1300 and catch more than 750 yards in NFL history.

Gurley will look to continue his success in this new year.The Rams added several big name players this past season. With Ndamukong Suh and Brandin Cooks added to the roster, they are expected to be a Superbowl favorite in 2018.

Gurley was the highest ranked of 5 former Dawgs. AJ Green came in second highest with the number 22 rank. Mathew Stafford followed not long after at #31, followed by Geno Atkins at #63 and Thomas Davis at #73. Overall, it was a pretty good haul forth Dawgs who placed
