Georgia Football is pushing to sign in-state JUCO cornerback DJ Daniels at the moment.

As the recruiting wheels continue to turn, I wanted to keep introducing our readers to some of the players that Georgia Football really seems to be targeting right now in their 2019 class. Yesterday we looked at potential WR Makiya Tongue and today its a cornerback. DJ Daniels is a JUCO player, but he’s one of the more talented CB’s in the country. The Dawgs are very interested in bringing him in but they aren’t the only ones. Both Alabama and South Carolina are both hoping to take Daniels out of state.

I have to confess that I haven’t seen any film on Daniels. Try as I might, I cannot find any film on my usual websites. That’s not entirely surprising. He was a lower rated recruit who didn’t seem to draw much interest when he was young. Now he’s generated a lot of interest with his play at JUCO, but those games aren’t exactly televised.

Needed to say SEC coaches send scouts out to see players that seems to be what has happened with Daniels. His recruiting has really blown up and he holds offers from 8 SEC teams. That and the fact that Useemseem to be pushing so hard for him is a good sign.

Next: 66 days to go until football!

If there is one thing Kirby Smart and Mel Tucker know, its defensive backs. That’s the position group both of them coached before climbing the ranks. Tucker leads the group at UGA but Kirby gets involved as well. If they think Daniels can play, chances are he can play. As a JUCO guy, he should also be able to get into the program and work out early. He’s a name worth looking out for over the next few months.
