Georgia Football dodged a bullet this past week when starting QB Jake Fromm broke his non-throwing hand in a freak boating accident.

Well, that could have been worse! Georgia Football fans around the country all received the shock of a lifetime yesterday. Headlines on every sports website blazed that quarterback Jake Fromm had broken his hand. Fans wailed, these are not the kind of things they wanted to read on July 4th.

Fortunately, after delving into the actual article, fans found out that it was Fromm’s left hand that was broken. While that might mean he can’t lift quite so many weights, it doesn’t affect him from a QB perspective. He can still make all the throws he needs to and Kirby Smart told reporters he expects Fromm to be fully able to participate in UGA’s 7-on-7 drills today.

That sign of relief you’re hearing it every Bulldog fan in the nation exhaling. Even those of us who are huge Justin Fields believers do not want to go into the 2018 season with just a single scholarship QB. Fromm injured his hand in a freak accident on a boat. By the sounds of it, the Dawgs got very lucky that it was his left hand that was struck.

Fromm threw for 24 TD’s last year and fans are expecting growth in 2018. Much of college football is expecting a more balanced attack from UGA this season. Fromm’s growth will be key if that is to be the case. The Dawgs need him to take a step up and continue to improve. Fortunately, it does not look like this injury will take any time away from him in that regards.
