The Georgia Football team got a second win on the recruiting trail this past weekend when Tennessee DT Zion Logue committed to UGA.

The Georgia Football team had a good weekend on the rail. After getting Demetris Robertson to come back to his home state, they also got a commitment from a much needed defensive tackle. Zion Logue isn’t a name that many people will know right now. However, he’s a fast rising player who recently got offers from a lot of SEC teams.

While a lot of prospects go to camps held by recruiting services, Logue did not. Instead, he went and camped at UGA, Alabama and several other schools. While he was there, he clearly impressed the coaching staffs and was immediately given several commitable offers. He made his decision last night and chose Georgia.

This is a big win for Georgia and DL coach tray Scott. Scott has taken a bit of a battering on message boards after he missed on several of his top targets. Logue is a raw prospect and still has a lot to learn about playing defensive tackle. He’s been a defensive end for much of his high school career but recently bulked up this summer. He’s expected to be over 280lbs in his senior season and he has the length and explosiveness to carry that weight well in the middle.

Next: 48 days to go until football!

This is an upside signing for the Dawgs which is exactly what Tray Scott was looking for. We’ll do a bit more of a deep dive into how Logue will fit in at UGA later when we look at all of the new UGA commitments and how they might impact the dawgs.
